Market Recap: What Drove Price Action Today
Friday’s price action was driven more by positioning and rates than by any single headline.
Stocks opened firm as traders reacted to easing concerns around near-term economic slowdown, but gains faded as the session progressed. Treasury yields stabilized after recent volatility, removing some immediate pressure from equities, yet not enough to spark aggressive buying.
The Nasdaq showed the most sensitivity, with large-cap tech trading in tighter ranges as traders reduced risk ahead of the weekend. Strength rotated into selective areas of the market rather than broad-based participation, keeping upside momentum contained.
Overall, Friday had the feel of a digest-and-reposition session:
