Earnings Reports This Week

For active traders, the importance of these announcements goes well beyond whether a
company beats or misses analysts’ estimates. The largest opportunities may develop when
earnings produce an outsized premarket move, a significant opening gap or a major shift
in expectations for an entire sector.

Here is our TraderInsight earnings watchlist for the week of
July 13–17, 2026, along with the reports most likely to influence
individual stocks, sector ETFs, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq.

Major Earnings Reports This Week

Monday, July 13

  • Fastenal (NASDAQ: FAST) — Before the opening bell

Fastenal provides an early look at industrial demand, manufacturing activity,
construction spending and pricing trends. Because the company supplies industrial
and construction customers, its results can offer useful information about the
health of the broader economy.

Options pricing indicated the potential for a meaningful earnings reaction in FAST,
making it one of Monday’s more important opening-gap candidates.

Tuesday, July 14: Major Bank Earnings

  • JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM) — Before the opening bell
  • Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) — Before the opening bell
  • Citigroup (NYSE: C) — Before the opening bell
  • Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) — Before the opening bell
  • Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) — Before the opening bell

Tuesday is the most concentrated financial-sector earnings day of the week. Five of
the largest U.S. banks are scheduled to report before the market opens, creating the
potential for significant movement in the individual stocks and financial-sector ETFs
such as XLF and KBE.

Traders will be watching several important themes:

  • Net interest income and pressure on lending margins
  • Consumer and commercial loan growth
  • Credit-card delinquencies and loan-loss provisions
  • Investment-banking and trading revenue
  • Deposit competition and funding costs
  • Management commentary about the consumer and the economy

JPMorgan often establishes the initial tone for the banking sector. Bank of America
can provide valuable insight into consumer behavior and lending activity, while
Goldman Sachs and Citigroup may reveal whether the capital-markets cycle is accelerating.

Citigroup may receive particular attention because investors are evaluating
management’s restructuring progress, expense controls and return targets.

Wednesday, July 15

  • ASML Holding (NASDAQ: ASML)
  • Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ)
  • Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS)
  • BlackRock (NYSE: BLK)

ASML: A Critical Semiconductor Read-Through

ASML is one of the week’s most important technology reports. The company manufactures
the highly advanced lithography systems required to produce leading-edge semiconductors.

Traders should listen closely for commentary about artificial-intelligence
infrastructure spending, chip-fabrication capacity, customer orders, export
restrictions and demand from major foundries.

A strong or weak ASML outlook could influence other semiconductor stocks, including:

  • Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA)
  • Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD)
  • Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO)
  • Applied Materials (NASDAQ: AMAT)
  • Lam Research (NASDAQ: LRCX)
  • KLA Corporation (NASDAQ: KLAC)

The report could also affect the
VanEck Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ: SMH) and the
Philadelphia Semiconductor Index.

Morgan Stanley and BlackRock

Morgan Stanley will provide another look at investment banking, trading activity
and wealth management. BlackRock’s report can offer insight into institutional
positioning, ETF flows and demand for risk assets.

Together, these reports may help traders assess whether recent strength in capital
markets is supported by durable institutional activity.

Thursday, July 16

  • Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM)
  • Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX)
  • GE Aerospace (NYSE: GE)
  • UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH)
  • Alcoa (NYSE: AA)

TSM: The Week’s Most Important AI and Semiconductor Report

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing may be the most important technology earnings
report this week. TSM manufactures advanced chips for many of the world’s largest
semiconductor designers and is central to the artificial-intelligence supply chain.

Traders should focus on:

  • Demand for leading-edge chip-production nodes
  • AI accelerator and data-center demand
  • Advanced packaging capacity
  • Capital-expenditure guidance
  • Manufacturing margins
  • Customer demand during the second half of 2026

TSM’s outlook may create movement across NVDA, AMD, AVGO, QCOM, ARM, ASML and
the broader semiconductor sector. Because semiconductor stocks represent a major
portion of the Nasdaq, a substantial surprise could also influence
QQQ and NQ futures.

Netflix: A Potential Nasdaq Volatility Event

Netflix remains one of the week’s highest-profile consumer-technology reports.
Investors will evaluate revenue growth, operating margins, engagement, pricing
and the development of the company’s advertising business.

The market may also focus on management’s outlook rather than traditional subscriber
metrics. A large after-hours reaction could create a meaningful opening gap Friday morning.

GE Aerospace

GE Aerospace can provide valuable information about commercial aviation demand,
aircraft production, engine deliveries, aftermarket service revenue and supply-chain
conditions.

Its results may create read-through movement in Boeing, aviation suppliers and the
broader industrial sector.

UnitedHealth Group

UnitedHealth is an important component of the Dow and the healthcare sector. Traders
will be watching medical-cost trends, reimbursement rates, membership growth and
management’s full-year guidance.

Because UNH has a substantial index weighting, a large earnings reaction can influence
the Dow Jones Industrial Average and healthcare ETFs even when the broader technology
market is moving in a different direction.

Friday, July 17

  • Truist Financial (NYSE: TFC)
  • Travelers Companies (NYSE: TRV)
  • Fifth Third Bancorp (NASDAQ: FITB)
  • Regions Financial (NYSE: RF)
  • Autoliv (NYSE: ALV)

Friday’s reports include regional banks, insurance and automotive-supply companies.
Regional-bank results may help confirm or challenge the themes established by the
major money-center banks earlier in the week.

Traders should watch deposit levels, commercial real-estate exposure, loan growth,
credit quality and net interest margins at TFC, FITB and RF.

TraderInsight Earnings Impact Watchlist

From an active-trading perspective, not every earnings report deserves equal attention.
Our primary focus is on companies capable of producing sufficient price expansion,
liquidity and institutional participation to create a structured trading opportunity.

  1. TSM — Potentially the largest read-through for AI,
semiconductors, NVDA, AMD, AVGO, SMH and the Nasdaq.
  2. ASML — A critical indicator of semiconductor-equipment
    demand and future chip-manufacturing investment.
  3. NFLX — A historically active post-earnings stock capable
of producing a substantial after-hours move and next-day opening gap.
  4. JPM — Likely to establish the initial direction for the
    banking sector and influence XLF.
  5. GS — An important measure of trading, deal activity and
    capital-market strength.
  6. BAC — A useful indicator of consumer credit, loan demand,
    deposits and interest-rate sensitivity.
  7. GE — A potential industrial and aerospace momentum candidate.
  8. UNH — Capable of producing meaningful movement in healthcare
    stocks and the Dow.

Potential 2 Standard Deviation Opening-Gap Candidates

Earnings announcements frequently create large price dislocations. When a stock
opens far enough from its prior closing price, it may qualify as a
two-standard-deviation opening gap.

A two-standard-deviation gap indicates that the opening move is unusually large
compared with the stock’s recent price behavior. It does not automatically mean
that the stock will reverse. It tells us that the opening price is statistically
extended and deserves closer evaluation.

The strongest potential candidates this week include:

  • FAST on Monday
  • JPM, BAC, C, GS and WFC on Tuesday
  • ASML on Wednesday
  • TSM, NFLX, GE and UNH on Thursday or Friday, depending on release timing

Final qualification cannot be determined until the earnings reaction occurs and
the premarket price is compared with the stock’s historical volatility and previous close.

A large percentage move by itself is not enough. Traders should also consider
liquidity, premarket volume, the location of the gap, nearby support and resistance,
and whether the catalyst materially changes the company’s valuation.

What Creates a High-Probability Earnings Gap Setup?

The best earnings-gap opportunities typically combine statistical extension with
a clear intraday structure. Before acting, we want to know whether the market is
accepting the new price or rejecting it.

Important factors include:

  • Gap size: Is the opening move large relative to the stock’s
    normal daily range?
  • Premarket volume: Is there enough institutional activity
    to validate the move?
  • Location: Is the stock opening near a major daily-chart level,
previous high, previous low or unfilled gap?
  • Catalyst quality: Did the company merely beat estimates,
or did management materially change forward guidance?
  • Sector confirmation: Are related stocks and sector ETFs
    confirming the move?
  • Opening behavior: Does the first series of bars show continuation,
    exhaustion, rejection or balance?
  • Risk definition: Can the trade be structured with a logical
    stop and favorable reward-to-risk relationship?

Do Not Assume Every Large Earnings Gap Will Revert

One of the biggest mistakes traders make is assuming that an extended earnings gap
must immediately fill.

Some gaps are driven primarily by temporary emotion and short-term positioning.
Those may produce a reversion setup. Other gaps reflect a genuine change in earnings
expectations, margins, guidance or long-term valuation. Those moves can continue
for the entire session and sometimes for several days.

The opening sequence helps us distinguish between the two possibilities.

A failed attempt to continue in the direction of the gap, followed by a structured
reversal, may support a gap-reversion trade. Strong price acceptance, sustained
volume and repeated defense of the opening range may favor continuation instead.

Major Economic Reports Could Amplify Earnings Volatility

Corporate earnings will not be the market’s only source of volatility this week.
Several important economic reports are also scheduled:

  • Tuesday: Consumer Price Index
  • Wednesday: Producer Price Index
  • Thursday: Retail sales and housing-related data
  • Friday: Housing starts and University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment

Inflation data can alter expectations for interest rates and Federal Reserve policy.
That means a stock’s earnings reaction may be reinforced, reduced or completely
reversed by a major macroeconomic release.

Bank earnings released alongside inflation data deserve particular attention because
interest-rate expectations directly affect lending margins, bond portfolios, funding
costs and financial-sector valuations.

How We Will Approach Earnings Reports This Week

At TraderInsight, the objective is not to predict every earnings result. The objective
is to identify when an earnings catalyst creates a measurable statistical edge and
then wait for price action to provide a defined entry, stop and target.

Our process is straightforward:

  1. Identify the companies reporting before and after each session.
  2. Measure the resulting premarket or after-hours move.
  3. Determine whether the stock qualifies as a statistically significant gap.
  4. Mark important daily-chart, premarket, options and market-structure levels.
  5. Evaluate whether the opening auction indicates continuation or reversion.
  6. Enter only when the trade offers a clear trigger and defined risk.
  7. Honor the stop, target and original trading plan.

This approach transforms earnings volatility from a guessing exercise into a
repeatable decision-making process.

Final Trading Focus

The most important earnings reports this week are concentrated in major banks,
semiconductors and several heavily weighted index components.

Tuesday’s bank reports may establish the tone for financial stocks. ASML will
provide an important semiconductor-industry signal on Wednesday. Thursday’s TSM
report could influence the entire AI trade, while Netflix may create one of the
week’s most active individual-stock setups.

The key is not simply knowing which companies report earnings this week. Traders
must understand how the results affect expectations, where price opens relative
to established levels and whether the market confirms or rejects the initial reaction.

We will continue evaluating the week’s earnings movers for statistically significant
gaps, structured reversals, momentum continuation and other high-probability trading
opportunities.
