Meta Delivers While Markets Drift

With markets in a slow, range-bound environment ahead of the Federal Reserve decision, today’s opportunities were driven almost entirely by predefined levels from the trading plans. While Tesla Inc. failed to trigger cleanly, Meta Platforms provided multiple structured setups throughout the session.

An early band trade captured roughly $1 per share, followed by additional entries later in the day as Meta worked through the volatility bands. The most notable move came during the NY lunch session, where a clean band run offered up to $3 per share from entry to target.

The key theme: patience and adherence to the plan. No chasing—just waiting for levels to trigger and executing as designed.

What Drove Today’s Price Action

Today’s broader market price action was driven by a combination of profit-taking, valuation concerns in high-growth technology stocks, and a lack of fresh bullish catalysts after the market’s recent run higher. Early strength faded as traders sold into resistance levels, particularly in AI-related names and momentum stocks that had become extended over the last several sessions.

Throughout the day, indexes repeatedly rotated back toward VWAP as institutional traders appeared more focused on reducing exposure and managing risk than initiating aggressive new positions. Economic data did little to materially change expectations for interest rates or growth, leaving the market highly technical in nature. As a result, many of the best opportunities came from mean-reversion and reversal setups rather than breakout continuation trades.

Large-cap technology stocks such as Tesla, Amazon, and components of the QQQ showed signs of exhaustion intraday, with repeated failures near overhead resistance creating opportunities for tactical short-term reversals. Overall, the session reflected a market pausing to digest gains, with traders becoming more selective and increasingly focused on execution, risk management, and patience rather than momentum chasing.
